Because that’s exactly how a yoga lesson with Sonja feels…. She does it with all her heart. The enthusiasm, love and openness she reveals to her yogis and yoginis are a gift and make every minute with her an experience. She lives yoga with every cell of her body, going far beyond the “edge of the body”. She has the wonderful gift of passing on this irrepressible power, calmness and kindness to those around her.<\/p>\n

Along the way, Sonja has enjoyed trainings in Vinyasa Krama Therapeutic Yoga with Rae Indigo. Her passion burns for Katonah Yoga: trainings with Abbie Galvin, Dages Juvelier Keates, Reni Bickel. Nina Peyer is an important inspiration for her.<\/p>\n

For her it is of enormous importance that everyone feels comfortable and secure in her lesson. Her yoga can be intense, challenging but also restorative and relaxing. She has an enormous talent to spontaneously adapt the yoga lessons to the momentary needs and concerns of her yogis and yoginis.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Patrick is profound – like the blue of the ocean. His honesty and humor are like a rock in the surf. His compassion for all beings allows love to flow into all levels of being. He has the gift to pick up people, to inspire – at eye level, with intuition and with an open heart.<\/p>\n

The meditation teacher Satyam Ahlaad Piwnik taught him the art of silence, mindfulness and meditation. At the Institute for Spiritual Psychology he successfully completed the course for meditation teacher recognized by the DGAM (German Society for Alternative Medicine). Seminars with Rupert Spira brought him closer to nonduality, a subject that captivates him and about which he likes to philosophize at length. Patrick’s meditations are detached from religious beliefs.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

We frame our structure, our personal form to feel save, grounded, and supported in asanas. We get over ourselves and move into our potential. We orient and reorient, using body, mind and breath to find connection, contact and boundaries. Physiology informs psychology and vice versa.<\/p>\n

With our imagination we cross reference and travel our body to support our neurology.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

A practice developed by Nevine Michaan of over 45 years Katonah Yoga incorporates classical Hatha yoga with Taoist theory, sacred geometry, magic, mythology, metaphor and imagination in a practical framework designed to potentiate personal and communal well-being. Framing the practice with maps of time and personal space are defined and refined.
\nIncorporating themes using asana as origami, manipulating form for function, and developing a sense of personal measure.
\nKatonah Yoga is organized around three principles of esoteric dialogue:<\/p>\n
